Swim Team Swim Meets

On MONDAYS in July, the Edgehill pool will close at 4:30 p.m. for Edgehill Eels swim meets.
In August, the schedule will return to normal.

2020 Updated Pool Information

I hope everyone is having a relaxing holiday weekend!  While we were unable to open the pool Memorial Day weekend due to Phase 1 rules handed down by the State of Virginia, the association is working on a plan to open soon.   If you can, continue to pay club dues during this hiatus which will provide much needed financial support so we can resume activities quickly when possible.

During Phase 1

Below are some of the Phase I guidelines from the State that will apply to us:

 *   No more than 10 people can be on the pool deck at any given time.
 *   One swimmer per lane for exercise purposes only.
 *   Seating in the pool area, including pool deck, and deck furniture is not permitted.  No sun‑bathing or lounging on deck.
During this time, we would like to offer the pool, for members, for lap swimming only.   We have had to adjust our contract with the pool management company and will not be able to have lifeguards during this phase.  There is sign-up genius for the hours that are available, and the following guidelines will help with this process:
Lap Swim Guidelines

 1.  Advanced sign up is mandatory and available on a first-come first-serve basis
 2.  55-minute time slots
 3.  Minimum participants are 3.    Maximum participants are 6.    One swimmer per lane.
 4.  Time slots that do not reach minimum participants (3) will be canceled
 5.  Age Limit: 16 and Over
 6.  2020 paid Members only.  No guest passes can be used during this time.
 7.  You can only be on the pool deck during your time slot (do not arrive early or stay late)
 8.  Restrooms for emergency use only – If you use the restroom, please clean after use. Staff is unavailable during Phase I.
 9.  Swim “at your own risk” – Again, there will be no lifeguard on duty.  (thus the 3-swimmer minimum)

Phase 2 and beyond

We are currently planning on opening the pool on June 10th depending on Phase 2 rules.  The pool originally was only scheduled to be open on weekends until after the YCSD graduation on the 12th so there will be minimum loss of days if we can open at that time.  Further information will be coming as we learn more.

Phase 3

Edgehill Pool Update 6/29/2020

The Edgehill Pool will be opening Wednesday, July 1st following the States Phase 3 Guidelines.  Lifeguards will be available during all normal pool hours.  Please bring your membership passes when you come.

Normal pool Hours:  Monday – Saturday:  Noon until 8 pm.  Sunday: 1 pm until 8 pm.

Phase 3 guidelines for outdoor pools can be found beginning on page 20 at this site:

Free swim will be allowed during phase 3 and while we are allowed to have 100 people inside the fenced area, in order to comply with State distancing recommendations, we can have no more than 45 people in the pool water at any given time.

The sign-up genius will no longer be used at this time because of this increase in allowed numbers and guest passes will be allowed at the pool beginning July 1st.  Please be considerate of other members and not use more than 2 or 3 at a time during peak hours.

Life rafts and other pool items may be used but please bring your own and take them home with you.  All Edgehill water equipment (kickboards, noodles, etc.) will still not be made available during this phase.

The diving area and diving board will be available at this time; however, the splash (baby) pool will still be off-limits.  Please practice social distancing when using the diving board.

The pool deck will be set up in a way that encourages separation between families.  Please use best judgement when choosing your seating.  There will also be cleaners available to members who wish to clean deck furniture before and after using.

Thank you for your continued patience as we work through this time.  The aim of the association is to open the pool completely as soon as possible in a manner that allows us all to feel as safe as possible.  Adjustments to these guidelines will be implemented immediately as State guidelines change.
