Pool Management and the EHA Board are authorized to establish or modify rules and regulations as well as pool hours as conditions necessitate.  Management reserves the right to refuse admittance to, or remove from the pool premises temporarily or permanently any person failing to comply with pool regulations.    Please contact Pool Management or an EHA board member with any questions or concerns.

  1. Swimming without lifeguards present is strictly prohibited during normal operating hours
  2. Starting blocks are for swim team use only: no sitting on them or jumping/diving from them.  
  3. A responsible individual at least 15 years old must accompany children under age (9) nine to the pool.  


  1. Members must present membership cards and sign the daily registration form upon entry to the pool. 
  2. All members are required to have an emergency form on file prior to use of the pool. 
  3. Non-member babysitters (Age 15 and up) will be allowed to use the pool facility only while babysitting the child of a member. 


  1. All guests must be accompanied by a member.  Members are responsible for the actions of their guests.
  2. A daily guest pass ($5) is required for all guests, regardless of age. Grandchildren who are 12 years of age or younger shall be exempt from guest fees when accompanied by grandparents who are members. Grandchildren over 12 years of age will need a guest pass.
  3. A guest is any Non-Edgehill resident. Edgehill residents who are not members are not permitted to enter as guests.  The only exception would be if that resident has earned “Volunteer” pool passes by volunteering their time.
  4. Guest passes are purchased at the snack shack.  Please plan ahead as the snack shack is not always open when the pool is open.
  5. Temporary guest passes may be requested at a discounted rate for an extended stay, out-of-town guests.
  6. Guards may require a swim test for guests under the age of 16 to use the diving board or diving well.  The swimmer (as a minimum) must be able to swim the width of the deep end.


  1. The pool and deck will be cleared at the sound of thunder or the sight of lightning.  It will remain closed until the Lifeguards deem it safe.  (Generally, 30 minutes after either thunder or lightning)


  1. Swimmers must wear proper swimming attire.  
  2. Only swimming-approved diapers are permitted for babies.


  1. Spitting, spouting water, blowing the nose, etc. in the pool is strictly prohibited.  
  2. Foul language, running, pushing, boisterous or rough play is forbidden in the pool area or restrooms. 


  1. Lifeguards may require children 9-12 years old to pass a swim test before swimming without a parent/guardian present.  
  2. Parents of young children must remain poolside at all times while the child is swimming.  Lifeguards and Pool Management have the authority to request adult supervision if needed.  
  3. No hanging on lane ropes or diving-well rope.
  4. For safety reasons, those members and guests under 16 yrs. of age must leave the pool for a 10-minute rest period each hour and remain behind the white line on the deck.
  5. Personal flotation devices, goggles, and masks may be used in the main part of the pool.  They may not be used while going off the diving board. 
  6. Only soft water toys i.e. Nerf balls, noodles, inflatable rafts are allowed in the pool. Tennis balls, footballs, racquetballs, raft paddles, and other hard toys are prohibited.  Lifeguards and pool management have the discretion to restrict the rafts if safety is a concern.  


  1. For use by children 5 years old and younger only.
  2. All children must be accompanied by an adult at all times 
  3. Supervision and safeguarding are the responsibility of the attending adult, not the on-duty lifeguard.
  4. Only swimming-approved diapers are permitted for babies.


1.    Diving is permitted only in the diving well. 

2.    Only one person is allowed on the diving board at a time.

3.    A single bounce and forward moves only from the diving board.  

4.    Swim to the closest ladder after diving. 

5.    Personal flotation devices, goggles, and masks of any type are not permitted when using the diving boards or in the diving well.

6.    Young children must be able to swim the width of the deep end before being permitted into the deep end or using the diving.  Lifeguards have the discretion to limit the use of the diving board for young children for safety reasons (even with a parent present).  


  1. Help us keep the pool clean by keeping all food in the designated areas.  
  2. No glass containers or gum in the pool area.  
  3. No smoking inside the pool area.  Smoking is permitted only in designated areas. 
  4. Alcohol is prohibited on pool grounds.  An exception may occur during board approved activities.  


  1. Bicycles and other modes of transportation on community grounds must be stored at the bike rack.  Under no circumstances can they be brought in to the pool area.
  2. Skateboards may be checked in at the guard shack.
  3. Weapons are prohibited on all Edgehill Association property. 
  4. Dogs and other animals are not permitted in the pool area except during board-approved activities. 
  5. Please keep phone calls to or from the guard shack at a minimum. EHA is billed on a per-call basis. Please ask a guard for phone assistance.
