The 2023 season for the Edgehill Eels was full of spirited competition, fun and great memories. The team finished strong with a 3-2 record in Division 2 of the VPSU league. The Eels had 102 swimmers with 29 of those swimmers under the age of 8.  Out of the 102 swimmers we had 36 athletes qualify for the final Championship Meet and 29 attend to place the Eels 12th out of 18 teams. A huge shout out to Annalise Gunderman for winning 1st place in all three of her events and for receiving the high point award for 7-8 girls at the Champs Meet. Another huge congratulations to Zoey Pelletier for setting a new team record in 13-14 girls 50m freestyle, Casey Tingen for setting a new pool record in 15-18 women 50m backstroke and team records in 15-18 women 100m IM, 50m freestyle, 50m breaststroke, 50m backstroke and 50m fly, and to Ryan Pelletier for setting a new team record in 15-18 men 50m backstroke.

We are especially proud of all our swimmers for their hard work and team spirit, and appreciative of the many new and returning families for their support. Thank you to our many sponsors and volunteers who helped make this season a success.  Also, a big thank you goes to our coaches Owen Fisher, Brodie Persson, Lily Persson and Casey Tingen for their leadership and dedication to the team.

The season ended with our traditional awards banquet and night swim that also included a fun family relay. A lot of fun was had by all.

The Edgehill Eels board and coaches are grateful to the Edgehill community for providing a place where our kids can have the best summer fun making swim team memories that last a lifetime. See you all in 2024!

Sponsorship

The Edgehill Eels are soliciting sponsors from members and local businesses interested in supporting our swim team for the 2024 swim season! Sponsorship funding will be utilized to help the team offset costs of coach’s salaries, team equipment, supplies, and fees for the team to compete in the Virginia Peninsula Swim Union for the 2024 swim season.

Being a member of the swim team allows our swimmers the opportunity to learn about teamwork, sportsmanship, as well as promoting their health and fitness through healthy competition. Located in the Edgehill neighborhood and with members from the surrounding area, our swim team members and their families are proud to support our local community businesses and we look forward to having your business as one of our sponsors this season!
