Edgehill is a mature neighborhood in York County on the Virginia Peninsula consisting of over 500 single-family homes, mostly on large shady lots. It is wooded and quiet, yet still close enough to town to be convenient. We are surrounded by the Yorktown Battlefield National Park, Newport News Park, and watershed forests.
Edgehill is home to engineers and entrepreneurs, tradesmen and teachers, policemen and firemen, soldiers and Coasties, retirees, little old ladies, young families, and empty-nesters. We have a pool and a clubhouse, but no mandatory fees.
The nearby schools are excellent. Yorktown Elementary School is in the neighborhood, Yorktown Middle School is 2.9 milles down the highway, and York High School is within walking distance across the highway.
The Edgehill Association began in 1961 (click here for Edgehill History and Deed to Members) and continues to be active today with many seasonal activities appropriate for families and members all ages. We are proud of our community and our neighbors and welcome you to join us. The Association is completely voluntary - membership is voluntary, participation is voluntary, board membership and leadership is voluntary. There are no covenants for home ownership you might find in "homeowners' associations." The Edgehill Association is completely dependent upon all residents to invest in the future of and to care about our neighborhood. The minimum contribution requested is only $100 annually (less than $9 per month) and there are so many benefits to each resident as a result.
The Edgehill Association offers pool membership, clubhouse events, clubhouse rental for weddings, functions, celebrations for up to 175 people. Plan on having your event at the Edgehill clubhouse.
IMPORTANT: When inputting the address into Google Maps - use "Edgehill Community Center" instead of 700 Cockletown Road. As you can see, for some reason, Google Maps takes you to the corner of York-Warwick Drive and Cockletown, instead of Grafton District Road and Cockletown.
