That’s a wrap for 2024! The Edgehill Eels had another great summer swim season. With just over 100 swimmers, 21 of which were new to the team, we continue to grow our swim team family. The Eels finished the season with a 3rd place tie in Division 2 of the VPSU league with a 2-3 record. 37 athletes qualified for the VPSU Championship Meet with 28 participating. The Eels placed 10th out of 18 teams. Congratulations to our Champs medalists: Katie Gunderman, Ryan Pelletier, Lucas Vasquez, AJ Gunderman, Marcus Smelser, Annalise Gunderman and Leora Pollock.
The Eels had two team records broken this year: Ryan Pelletier broke both the 15-18 Men’s 100m Individual Medley with a time of 1:03.83; and the 15-18 Men’s 50m Backstroke with a time of 30.03.
Many congrats to all our swimmers for their hard work, whether they were pushing themselves to win that next heat, dropping time, learning a flip turn for the first time or making it all the way down the lane. Keep up the good work, and we can’t wait to see what you can do next summer!
The Board would like to thank all the families for their support and the volunteer time put in to making the season happen. I would personally like to thank our Board for all the work behind the scenes that they do as well. Thank you to our 2024 sponsors. We appreciate your support!
Thank you to our coaches, Owen Fisher, Brodie Persson, Casey Tingen and Lily Persson for being leaders the kids look up to and their dedication to the team. All four of our coaches were once Eels swimmers and know what it means to share that Eel Spirit!
Lastly, the Eels Board and coaches are grateful to the Edgehill community for supporting the team. The Eels swim team and our neighborhood pool are the best place to be for summer fun and making memories. See you in 2025!

Swim Team President
The Edgehill Eels are soliciting sponsors from members and local businesses interested in supporting our swim team for the 2025 swim season! Sponsorship funding will be utilized to help the team offset costs of coach’s salaries, team equipment, supplies, and fees for the team to compete in the Virginia Peninsula Swim Union for the 2025 swim season.
Being a member of the swim team allows our swimmers the opportunity to learn about teamwork, sportsmanship, as well as promoting their health and fitness through healthy competition. Located in the Edgehill neighborhood and with members from the surrounding area, our swim team members and their families are proud to support our local community businesses and we look forward to having your business as one of our sponsors this season!
