Pool Management and the Edgehill Association Board are authorized to establish or modify rules and regulations as well as pool hours as conditions necessitate. Management reserves the right to refuse admittance to or remove from the pool premises temporarily or permanently any person failing to comply with pool regulations. Please contact Pool Management or an Edgehill Association board member with any questions or concerns.
Swimming without lifeguards present is prohibited during normal operating hours. There is a 10-minute lifeguard break each hour where lifeguards will not be present on the guard stand. Individuals age 16 or older can swim during the break at their own risk.
Lifeguards are in charge. Lifeguards have the authority and responsibility to maintain safe conditions. Therefore, if pool rules are violated repeatedly, they may request the individual leave the pool.
Individuals must stay clear of the lifeguard stations and must not interfere with or distract the pool lifeguard(s).
Individuals who do not require the ADA chair must not touch or sit on ADA chair.
Use of the pool facilities during non-scheduled times must be approved by a director on the Edgehill Association Board.
Starting blocks are for swim team use only: no sitting on them or jumping/diving from them.
A responsible individual age 15 or older must accompany children under age 9 to the pool.
Members must present membership cards and sign the daily registration form immediately upon entry to the pool (area) including time in.
All members are required to have an emergency form on file prior to use of the pool.
All guests must be accompanied by a member. Members are responsible for the actions of their guests.
A daily guest pass is required for all guests and must be presented immediately upon entry to the pool (area), regardless of intention to swim. Exceptions:
a. Grandchildren, age 12 and younger, when accompanied by grandparents who are members, are exempt from requiring a guest pass. Grandchildren over age 12 will need a guest pass.
b. Non-member babysitters (age 15 and up) will be allowed to use the pool facility only while babysitting the child of a member and are exempt from requiring a guest pass.
A guest is anyone who is not a member of the Edgehill Association. Edgehill residents who are not members are not permitted to enter as guests.
Guest passes must be purchased in advance as they are not available for sale at the pool.
Temporary guest passes may be requested at a discounted rate for extended stay, out-of-town guests.
The pool and deck will be cleared at the sound of thunder or sight of lightning. It will remain closed until the lifeguards deem it safe, generally, 30 minutes after thunder and lightning has ceased.
Swimmers should wear proper swimming attire. Prohibited attire includes, but is not limited to: “street clothes,” revealing swim wear, thongs, cut-off jeans, sports shorts, sports bras, and leggings. Clean, fitted cotton t-shirts are permitted, however, water-specific shirts (e.g., rash guards) are recommended. Those requiring complete coverage due to religious reasons should wear attire specifically designed for swimming and swimming pool use.
Incontinent persons/babies must wear swimming-approved diapers.
Spitting, spouting water, blowing the nose, etc. in the pool is strictly prohibited.
Foul language, running, pushing, boisterous or rough play is forbidden in the pool area or restrooms.
Individuals who wish to swim where the water is higher than their armpits with feet flat on the pool surface will be subject to a swim test.
Children must be swim tested if they are in the pool without a parent or guardian. If a child has not passed a swim test, they must be accompanied by a parent, at arm’s length. The parent accompanying child must also be able to stand on the bottom of the pool with their head above water.
Swim Test is swimming a 25-meter length of the pool with proper stroke and breathing techniques, and treading water for one minute.
Parents of young children must remain poolside at all times while child is swimming. If needed, lifeguards and pool management have the authority to request adult supervision.
No hanging on lane ropes or diving well rope.
For safety reasons, those individuals under age 16 must leave the pool for a 10-minute rest period each hour and remain behind the white line on the deck.
Personal flotation devices, goggles, and masks may be used in the main part of the pool.
For safety reasons, water wing, floaties, mermaid tails, dolphin tails, and mono-fins are prohibited.
Only soft water toys, e.g., Nerf balls, noodles, inflatable rafts are allowed in the pool. Tennis balls, footballs, racquetballs, raft paddles, and other hard toys are prohibited. Lifeguards and pool management have the discretion to restrict the toys, rafts or tubes if safety is a concern.
Diving is permitted only in the diving well.
For use by children age 5 and younger only.
All children must always be accompanied by an adult, adult must be in the baby pool fence area.
Supervision and safeguarding are the responsibility of the attending adult, not the on-duty lifeguard.
Babies must wear swimming-approved diapers.
Guards may require a swim test for individuals to use the diving well. Swim Test is defined in “Swimming” above.
Personal flotation devices, goggles, and masks are not permitted when using the diving board.
Only one person is allowed on the diving board at a time.
A single bounce and forward moves only from the diving board.
Help us keep the pool clean by removing all food and drink when leaving.
No glass containers or gum in pool area.
No smoking or vaping inside fenced pool area. Smoking is permitted in designated areas outside of the pool area.
Alcohol is prohibited on pool grounds. An exception may occur during Edgehill Association Board approved activities.
Bicycles and other modes of transportation on community grounds must be stored at the bike rack. Under no circumstances can they be brought into the pool area.
Skateboards may be checked in at the guard shack.
Weapons are prohibited on all Edgehill Association property.
Dogs and other animals are not permitted in the pool area except during board-approved activities.
